During the 1950’s and 60’s, artists responded to a growing crafts movement and used their talents to create beautiful, hand-crafted utilitarian objects to be used in the home to create a unique Northwest aesthetic that still retains interest to this day.

Fine artists and craftsmen in this exhibition include paintings by Mark Tobey, Richard Gilkey, Ward Corley, Wendell Brazeau and Paul Horiuchi.

Craft oriented works include table lamps by Margaret Tomkins and James FitzGerald, Robert Sperry and Ngaire Hixson.

Fabric and weaving examples by Priscilla Chong, Marjorie Chase Gilleland and Walter Hook.

Ceramics include Peter Voulkos, Rudy Autio, Frances Senska, Ivarose Bovingdon and Paul Bonifas. Metalwork by Howard Duell and furniture designed by Warren Hill.
