Hwaen Ch’uqi has thrilled audiences with his virtuosity throughout the United States, and in France, Germany, the Netherlands, Russia, Bulgaria, Taiwan and Japan, as a fellow at Tanglewood for 3 years, and concertizing at Seiji Ozawa Hall, Alice Tully Hall and the Great Hall of the Moscow Conservatory.  Hwaen is a native of Peru and an Inca Indian, and he is blind.  Currently Hwaen resides in Rochester, NY, and we’re honored this is his fourth trip to Seattle to give concerts at Cascadia.  He’s become one of our favorites at the museum, he says he loves the feel of performing in our gallery and especially our enthusiastic audience.  The concert will feature Franz Schubert’s Piano Sonata No. 19, c-moll, D. 958, an explosive and tender romantic piece.  Mr. Ch’uqi will also perform the complete Six Moments Musicaux, D. 780 by Schubert.  Altogether quite a treat!

The concert is about one-hour in length starting at 6 PM, leaving you time to dine out after.  Your concert ticket includes admission to all the museum galleries. Our concerts are a unique opportunity to enjoy leading classical performers up close, in our intimate gallery setting surrounded by beautiful art from the Northwest – the way chamber music was meant to be experienced!

Seating is limited and these concerts often sell-out, so please we suggest reserving your seats well in advance.
