Autumn may bring with it vests and hoods (nary a blasphemous umbrella!), but the added layers don’t ever slow us down. Quite the opposite, in fact! We are Pacific Northwesterners. We were born for temperate—and sometimes temperamental—seasons. It’s in our DNA.

We are also the most learned people in the country, though, so we are smart enough to know when to take our events inside. And, for the most part, Edmonds’ October happenings take place in concert halls, theaters, and conference rooms.

Open your calendar in another tab and start adding things to it—you’re about to harvest a whole lot of an Edmonds kind of fun this October!

CELEBRATIONS

Edmonds Scarecrow Festival, All October

Come to town to vote on dozens of scarecrows outside of downtown businesses this month. Hosted by The Edmonds Historical Museum, the 11th annual event is always a conversation starter with locals and visitors alike. Don’t forget to grab a seasonal drink from one of the many coffee shops dotting the downtown blocks, either. We won’t judge your love of pumpkin spice in the slightest—it’s a gourd time to savor your favorite autumnal flavors while soaking up all things cozy.

Find out more and vote here.

Halloween Trick-or-Treat Night, October 31

Don your best costume and congregate with us downtown—rain or shine—from 5-7pm to trick-or-treat, pet cute dogs, and fill up your soul along with your candy buckets! There will be a costume contest for people and pups, so show off your spooktacular self.

THEATER

Agatha Christie's Murder on the Orient Express, Through October 8

Presented by the Edmonds Driftwood Players to usher in their 65th season, this show is full of glamour, intrigue, and suspense.

A taste of what you can expect: Ken Ludwig’s clever adaptation of the Agatha Christie classic adds a healthy dose of humor to quicken the pace. Just after midnight, a snowdrift stops the Orient Express in its tracks. The luxurious train is surprisingly full for the time of the year, but by the morning one passenger is no longer with the rest. An American tycoon lies dead in his compartment, stabbed eight times, his door locked from the inside. Isolated and with a killer in their midst, the passengers rely on detective Hercule Poirot to identify the murderer—in case he or she decides to strike again…

Catch it with your 12+ crew at the Wade James Theatre on Main Street. Learn more and select your seats here
