A love for coffee is what started Jaiiya. The café opened in August 2020 amidst a pandemic — defining extra-gutsy entrepreneurs! The café offers something for the health- and quality-conscious customer.
Jaiiya offers loose leaf rishi teas and sumptuous lattes, as well as a rotating menu of single origin coffee. Açai bowls include local, fresh fruit and pure organic açai. It's also the only place around where you can find cold-pressed, super-healthy juices.
"Everything at Jaiiya is healthy, tasty, and made with the freshest local ingredients we can get our hands on. We make things that taste good and are good for you. It’s as simple as that," says proprietor Chee Wong, former owner of Waterfront Coffee Company by the Edmonds ferry landing.
"The waterfront café is quicker fare for the ferry-landing crowd, and we wanted a place that offered something you can't find elsewhere," he says.
The café is very "Portland-esque," says Chee, explaining it has an open kitchen, simple, but quality ingredients that are locally-sourced. "There is a focus on the coffee, but also on the food," he adds.
Seems like the pandemic might be a good time to eat healthier! So grab an immune-boosting, cold-pressed drink and a giant slice of fresh bread toasted and topped with an avocado and egg. The compact, on-site kitchen closes at 3 p.m.
