Ahhh, market season! We can smell the fresh produce from here. Juicy berries, fresh herbs, and popping corn waft through the streets of Edmonds during the market you may have heard about already. And, hey, we love a seasonal market as much as anyone, but you may be surprised as you keep reading to see that Edmonds boasts a few markets that persist well beyond the summer.

We’d never dare play favorites, so we’ve arranged them alphabetically. Scroll on to pick where you’ll meet us first—whether it’s to peruse hand-made goods or to pick a point to a gorgeous salmon filet, our reusable totes are ready and we’re just waiting on your call.

Country Farms Market

A Highway 99 head-turner, Country Farms Market opened its Edmonds location in 1960. Since then, it’s been a multi-generational mainstay offering everything from Walla Walla Sweet Onions in the summer to flocked Christmas Trees in the winter. At Country Farms Market, you can expect rotating, seasonal fruits and veggies at their peak. You can also find a curated selection of locally-made jams, honey, and other gourmet pantry items.

Got a green thumb or know someone who does? Country Farms also carries flowers, shrubs, and herbs.

Let’s say you want to support local farmers, but you are otherwise engaged on an Edmonds Summer Market Saturday (summer = wedding season and all the vacations, after all!). Country Farms is open every day of the week in the summer and is deeply committed to supporting local farmers and producers. If you’re interested in sustainable food, stop in, sniff some juicy stone fruits, load up your cart, and say hey.

Edmonds Summer Market

An Edmonds institution hosted by the Edmonds Historical Museum (fun fact: the Market entrance is right by the museum) that sees visitors from across the water and vendors from around the county and beyond, the Edmonds Summer Market runs from May to October annually and hosts close to 100 vendors.

Shop and mosey from 9am-2pm each Saturday while supporting local, family-owned businesses. The farmers you meet at the market all grow or raise everything they bring. Producers, artists, and crafters tote items they make to the market each week. Resellers and imported goods aren’t allowed because the Edmonds Summer Market is all about local. Pretty great, huh? Make a day of it and grab a slice of pizza or cup of coffee depending on which part of the market you enter. Whatever you choose, you can’t go wrong.

Kuzma’s Fish Market

Located in an otherwise unassuming building behind Jack in the Box, Kuzma’s is a local gem that will make you feel like a local.

Owned by Ken Hewitt (aka “Kuzma”) who helped his Croatian grandmother with her fish market in West Seattle growing up, this popular seafood spot fuses the best of a European fish market with the warmth and personalized touch of a family-run shop.

Oysters, mussels, and lobsters bubble in saltwater tanks; full fish are displayed on ice; and you can grab poke to go. Don’t forget to get your pantry items (panko, anyone?) from the metal shelves and steelhead candy from the standing freezer while you’re inside, either. Everything is fresh and sustainably sourced by Kuzma and his knowledgeable staff. Plus, they are pros at helping you make decisions and meal-plan if you’re stumped!

Northwest Handmade Market

Held at the Edmonds Masonic Center each month through November of this year, the Northwest Handmade Market’s goal is to offer amazing handmade goods as close to home as possible.

If you’re already sold on checking it out (it’s fabulous), here are the upcoming dates:

  • September 7
  • October 5
  • November 2

All vendors are:

  • Hand-selected
  • From the Edmonds and nearby communities (read: hyper-local)
  • Deeply committed to their craft

You can check out all the vendors by month—and start planning your time—here. The Northwest Handmade Market even makes it easy to add the shows directly to your calendar! It’s like they knew exactly what we all needed, on so many levels.
